Corrected 2min mem vid

Ok this is my post for my 2mins video as the previous attempts were in correct I have been exporting and rendering my videos wrong, so the final result was not doing my work any favours at all in fact you could barely see them and it looked as though I filmed every thing with a very low quality and they videos were very blurry because my ISO when filming was far too high. Although this was my first video so I have plenty of mistakes to learn from.
So I have corrected my mistakes saving at 1080p 25f and have much clearer picture, excusing the opening shot as it was blurred on purpose I also think I filmed a lot out of focus.

video 8

Every runner has a reason

 http://www.shortoftheweek.com/2014/07/24/every-runner-has-a-reaso/

The reason why I chose this video is simply because of the story told, I really like videos with a story and meaning, I was instantly drawn to this video from the opening scene and the sun flare caught.

I like the clean crisp video work and how it relates to the runners story.

I like the use of line work that is created from when he runs in-between the buildings and under the bridge, I also thought this scene with the graffiti in the background brought this scene to life with the colours used.
Very moving video clip with a relatable story on how people see other people, and how you should really look at yourself and others before judging.

I also liked how he used the moving trees as a memory image because it is the same thing I did in my two min memory video
This is from the videoclipThis is my shot

Analysed vid 7

This weeks video I found on short of the week

http://www.shortoftheweek.com/2014/09/07/the-light-and-the-little-girl/

The reason I chose to use this video is because of the lighting used and I thought it would actually be a nice video to recreate.
I like how it portrays the innocence of childhood, how kids always touch everything and kind of entertain their own minds, like how to capture light? just like a photographers dream of capturing the perfect lighting.

I really liked this shot and the lighting used in it just this picture tells a story, of sadness and how the room is darkened to show you it is a child that is upset. The clip darkens off and then opening again with what looks like only natural light.

I thought this video was a moving piece of work with lots of emotion brought in to it.

My lighting work

as you can see my lighting source is positioned as three point lighting, how ever I had a lot of trouble trying to fade the shadow in the background
This is the examples of my work and the colours I used trying to keep it controlled,
I also had a natural light source coming in from in-between the key light and the fill light.

Using only natural light and a 60watt light bulb

Using natural light and one key light

Using blue gel and all lighting

all lighting I think it actually just come down to the position of the camera and I should of tried to put the key and fill lighting a little higher, also I had the subject way to close to the wall.

My Colour Controlled video

This is my colour controlled video

This is the scene I tried to work from and also the colour spectrum I tried to stay within

The colours I used were quite dark and I tried to use the sunset as my only light source, I could change the colours used although left them as they were so that you could see the original image.

My Interview video/ audio /music

EDITED

Edited with background music and audio recorded with the digital recorder

Whats working- The video footage and correcting the colours with the RGB colour corrector

Whats not working- would have to be the audio matching, still haven't mastered it but I will get there.

Future - Take more care with sound audio and mixing I would also reconsider the lighting source as I had to colour correct the clips just to brighten the scene a little more.

Sound Equipment /Audio

Sound Equipment AUDIO

Enable you to get closer to the source of what you are videoing
16Bit sound
Dvd 44.1

The bigger the file size the better the quality although bigger files take a lot of processing

Good sound 48khz

48/16 will give you the best quality sound
If you record something to low, like at 8 you just cant expand on it because of the quality

External microphone
Shot gun Microphone Short/Long
Short records mostly from front some side but none from back
Long in the direction you face it
Battery operated

If you want good sound the most important thing is to get close to the source

Keep note 2 volume controls on side is record level
And head phone level
Average and try keep level -12 or around -20 to -12

Switch to Manual To keep sound at the same level if you have it on Auto if you are interviewing someone and they pause the auto level will try to compare noise at the level of the voice.

Colour Correction Experiments

Colour Correction with RGB Curves My work so far.
Edited photo
So you can see the effects you can get by adjusting the colours through colour correction
from a more natural look to a drastic look that you would probably not use.

As you can see in this picture I dulled the grass down so its not so bright and to bring out the subject more.

After going through a few videos this week I decided to stay with this one because I thought the sound track suited the video, it doesn't really tell a story, I just like the use of slow motion in the video.
The music brings a sort of peacefulness and has captured my impulsiveness which has drawn me into the video.
Although the film is of a Sunset  breezy in both content and tone, if you look below the surface, it does raise a lot of interesting and relevant subjects, like the feeling you have when you sit and look out at the ocean, it just instantly has a calming effect to it.

The processes used in this video where close ups and slow motion which draws you in, I also thought the establishing shot of the beach made the video worth watching.
