This is a Painting of a Elderly lady, that looks like she of importance, as she is wearing a tradition Maori tattoo on her chin, ta moko.
There is only one female in this painting and she is around 60-70 years of age, this is a portrait picture with a realism style to it.
This is the kind of painting that looks as though it would cost alot of money.
Although you cant really make out what the women in it is thinking, to myself it has a political message to it, as the women is looking downward with a look of disapproval of something or someone.
She has a superior look to her, a look of Seniority like the type of person that speaks and everyone has to listen.
The reason I chose this painting in particular is because it stood out, and made me wonder what the women was looking down on.
